Infusing Sustainability into the Curriculum

Our services:
We offer inter- and multi-disciplinary faculty development seminars and related consulting services to colleges and universities interested in infusing sustainability throughout their curriculum.  We provide 1 or 2 day workshops for faculty or 1-2 days workshops in which we train the trainers.

Who we are:
Sharon M. Meagher, Ph.D. is Professor of Philosophy and Chair of the Department of Latin American Studies and Women's Studies.   A specialist in social and political philosophy and urban theory and an expert on interdisciplinary curriculum development, Meagher has served as the co-facilitator of the University of Scranton's Faculty Development Workshops on Sustainability for the past 6 years.  Meagher had extensive faculty development experience, having facilitated workshops on sustainabilty, publicly engaged scholarship, social action teaching, infusing gender concerns into courses, incorporating feminist leadership practices into courses, and developing women and gender studies programs.  Clients include the Kigali Institute of Higher Education (Rwanda), Morgan State University (Baltimore, MD), and the University of Scranton (Scranton, PA).  Her c.v. can be found here.

For extensive multi-day workshops on sustainability, Meagher sometimes is joined by her colleague Michael Cann, Ph.D..  Cann is Professor of Chemistry at the University of Scranton.  A leading scholar and educator on green chemistry, he is the founder of the University of Scranton's Sustainability Taskforce and the founder and co-facilitator (with Meagher) of the University of Scranton's Faculty Development Workshops on Sustainability.
