Higher Education Leader


A higher education and nonprofit leader with a demonstrated commitment to social justice and diversity, Sharon M. Meagher has served in several key leadership roles, currently as the Vice-President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty at Marymount Manhattan College (MMC).  

Nonprofit Leader


Meagher is the founder of two non-profit organizations:  Mulberry Central Neighborhood Development Corporation (Scranton, PA) and the Public Philosophy Network (international).  She has served on many other boards and advisory groups with a focus on community and economic development.


Engaged Scholar and Teacher


Meagher has edited three volumes and written many book chapters on articles on social justice, philosophy of the city, community and economic development, GLBTQ issues, and engaged teaching and learning.  She is an expert on place-based learning in diverse communities and university-community partnerships.
